NAVI MUMBAI: In yet another instance of a brazen rape in Mumbai, a 10 year- old girl was assaulted in a garage by an auto-rickshaw driver after taking her and her two younger brothers for a ride after giving them chicken biryani.
According to Kalamboli Police Senior Inspector Sanjay Patil. The victim and her two younger siblings went to a fair near the D- Mart mall on December 26 at 8 p.m., when the accused autorickshaw driver was also present. He fed them and drove them to Kharghar in his autorickshaw after noticing that the three youngsters were not accompanied by elders.
He forced the two little boys to dismount his autorickshaw and led the juvenile girl to a secluded garage in Kharghar, where he allegedly sexually attacked her.
“The two minor boys ultimately reached their home about 10 p.m. and described the events to their parents, who went to the police station and filed a kidnapping case against the autorickshaw driver,” Patil explained.
The rapist has been arrested and due process of law shall now begin.
In recent times, Mumbai has been rocked by several rape incidents, including one where a minor girl from Manpada who was raped multiple times by dozens of men out of whom only 26 were arrested.
